HOW IT WORKS
Welcome to the Ll72! As a participant in this festival, you must follow all rules and guidelines presented on this webpage. Failure to do so could result in your film being disqualified from the festival. Be sure to read through each section carefully and direct any questions or concerns you may have to [email protected]. - Fill out your team roster on the REGISTER tab of this website no later than Friday, October 10th, 2025.
- Your team leader or at least 1 other member of the team must attend the official Kick-Off Meeting on October 17th, 5:00 pm in the FTC Film & Television Studio/Room 303. Failure to attend will lead to team disqualification.
- At the Kick-Off meeting, you will randomly select a genre for your film, and then the rest of the elements will be revealed. Please arrive promptly; refreshments will be served before the genre selection begins.
- The competition officially begins at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 17th, and officially ends at 5:59 PM on Monday, October 20th. All submissions after 6:00 PM will not be eligible for awards.
At the Kick-Off meeting we will reveal elements that each team must incorporate into their film. Every team will be given a Character Name, Prop and Line of Dialogue to be included in the final product. Additionally each team will be randomly assigned a genre of film to adhere to. Possible genres include:
- Action/Adventure
- Comedy
- Drama
- Fantasy
- Horror
- Mystery
- Romance
- Sci-Fi
- Thriller/ Suspense
- Documentary/ Mockumentary
Friday October 10th – Last Day to Register.
Friday October 17th – Kick-Off Event. Contest begins promptly at 6pm.
Monday October 20th – Submission Due by 5:59pm.
Friday October 24th – Screening Event and Awards Ceremony.
- Your film must adhere to the genre you were given and utilize the assigned elements.
- Max of 5 people per group, and there must be a group leader.
- Group leaders must be present during the kickoff to pick a genre and get assigned the common elements (Character Name, Prop, Line of Dialogue).
- Film must be exported as an MP4 with 1920×1080 resolution.
- Run time of your film must be at minimum 3 minutes and may not exceed 7 minutes. NO EXCEPTIONS. Films over 7 minutes will not be screened.
- All films must be submitted through film freeway.
- NO Stunt work, Falls or otherwise dangerous activities
- NO Moving Vehicles
- NO Simulated or prop firearms, Missile Objects, Weapons, Sharp objects
- NO Nudity, Partial Nudity, or sexually explicit content
- NO Fire, Open Flames or Pyrotechnics
- NO Airports/ Aircraft’s within ¼ Miles
- NO Animals Endangerment, Livestock, or Wild Animals
- NO Water or watercraft
- NO Cigarettes, E-Cigs, or Simulated Drugs and or Alcohol use.
- Five Towns College Students must adhere to the equipment room policies and ALL special Activities are banned from the competition. See the student rules and regulations for more information.
